On 03/23/2025 Officer Jessica Daugherty was patrolling the area of 1115 N. Charles Seivers Blvd. when she observed two juvenile males enter the Vape Kratom Delta 8 store. Officer Daugherty noted that several complaints regarding the business selling tobacco and vape products to juveniles had been reported to the police department recently. Officer Daugherty then entered the business to investigate and observed two male juveniles at the checkout counter with a vape and two packs of pre-rolled Delta 8 cigarettes. Officer Daugherty observed the clerk scan the items and never ask either juvenile for a valid identification. The juveniles paid for and were given back the items and proceeded to leave the business before Officer Daugherty made contact with them. Officer Daugherty released the juveniles to the care of their guardian. The clerk was asked about the transaction and admitted to not checking the juveniles identification and has also done so several times in the past. The clerk was cited to General Session Court for the violation.

Winter weather can leave your vehicle’s tires in rough shape, which reduces performance and safety. It’s easy to take tires for granted since we don’t think about them all the time, but it’s true that having good tires on your vehicle leads to better performance, handling, and safety. #TireSafety

***SCAM ALERT***
We have received several calls in regard to a John Riley with Concrete Masters going door to door attempting to sell "leftover" sealer and perform other repairs for customers with concrete driveways. It has been reported that Riley does very minimal work on the front end and collects full payment with a promise to return the next day and complete the job. Once payment is made Riley does not return to complete the job. It has also been reported that Riley is not using legit concrete products and can easily be removed just by walking on it.
If you have any contact with this individual DO NOT give him any money and immediately report the contact to the police department.

Driving is something a lot of us take for granted, but some of the changes you experience as you get older can affect your ability to drive safely. The good news is that people who keep track of changes in their eyesight, physical fitness, and reflexes may be able to adjust their driving habits so they stay safe on the road.

FATAL SHOOTING.
At approximately 6:37a.m., officers of the Clinton Police Department responded to 1000 J.D. Yarnell Pkwy, Eagle Bend Manufacturing, on the report that a male had just shot himself on the property. The officers arrived to the scene and found a wrecked vehicle in a drainage ditch with a unresponsive male inside. The Clinton Fire Department and Anderson County Ambulance Service also responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. The male victim was identified as a Hezikiah Wilcox (33) of Powell, Tennessee. Officers further located a female on scene who stated that she was Mr. Wilcox's girlfriend and had been in the vehicle with him during the incident. The girlfriend stated to the officers that Mr. Wilcox had shot himself with a firearm as they were leaving the facility, causing the vehicle to drive into the ditch. Mr. Wilcox was observed by the officers to have an injury to his head, consistent to that of a gun shot wound. Officers further located a handgun next to Mr. Wilcox during the scene examination. No other persons were injured in the incident. The state of Tennessee Medical examiner's office was requested to the scene and the deceased was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center. At this time, the incident is pending further investigation with all indications being that Mr. Wilcox's injuries were self inflicted.

It is with a sad heart that we once again ask you to join us in prayer, because another brother in blue has passed away too soon. Please remember the family of Sergeant Barry Bunch and the officers of the Oak Ridge Police Department as they mourn another loss of a beloved law enforcement officer. Barry worked for Clinton P.D. for a while and was highly respected as an officer and trainer. You will truly be missed and never forgotten Sergeant Bunch.

The Clinton Police and Fire Departments joined together to spread some Christmas cheer to 26 deserving kiddos during our first annual "Shop with a Hero" event at the Clinton Walmart. Each child was paired with a police officer or firefighter who personally escorted them around the store as they shopped for Christmas gifts. As public servants, it is such a privilege to have the opportunity to bless these families and participate in sharing the spirit of giving. This terrific event would not be possible without the support of our amazing citizens and businesses in the City of Clinton! Special thanks goes to: Walmart (Clinton), Taylor Plumbing, Powder Cote II, WB Electric, Cannon & Cannon, Scott Laska (SL TN), Fox Toyota, Stephenson Auction & Realty, ACE Hardware, Scott Burton, and several City of Clinton employees who contributed.
