#NoShaveNovember is here! Let’s make #NoCrashNovember a goal, too. Contribute to safe roads by driving with your full attention. #DriveSafeTN

Coming back from the dead only happens in the movies.💀Never drink
and drive – it’s deadly for you, your passengers, and others on the road.

Trick-or-treat safely with these safety reminders!
🚸 Use the sidewalk whenever possible. If there isn’t a sidewalk, walk on the edge of the street facing traffic.
🚸 Use marked crosswalks to cross the street, & look left-right-left for vehicles or bikes before crossing.
🚸 Never play, push or shove others when walking around traffic.
🚸 Watch the road, not your phone.

Happy Halloween from the Clinton Police Department

If you’re sipping a potion, drinking something boo-zy👻, or indulging in
a witch’s brew, don’t get behind the wheel. Call a sober friend or
rideshare to make sure your Halloween doesn’t end in a nightmare.😱

Nothing is scarier than a driver who isn’t even looking at the road. 📵☠️

“A little” is not enough! Increase and MAXIMIZE your visibility when walking at night by carrying a flashlight and wearing light or reflective clothing. Cross streets at a designated crosswalk or intersection whenever possible. Walk on a sidewalk or path instead of the road. Walk on the shoulder facing traffic if a sidewalk or path is not available.

Motorists: Drive the speed limit, be ready to stop quickly if needed, and always look before turning when driving in areas where there are people walking.
Pedestrians: Cross at intersections, use crosswalks when available, and always look before stepping into the roadway.

Here’s a defensive driving reminder in case you are being followed too closely. Do not brake suddenly (“brake check”). If possible, move over to another lane, or gently tap your brakes to flash your brake lights and slow down. This should encourage the tailgater to pass you, or hopefully slow down.

The City of Clinton invites you to join us for our 5th Annual Trick or Treat Festival on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2 PM to 5 PM.
